South Tour from Marrakech in 4x4

Breakfast. Meeting with our driver. Departure in a 4x4 for the south. Crossing of the Tizin't Tichka pass located at 2260 m and the highest road point in Morocco. Continuation via a small road to reach the village of Télouet. Lunch (not included) in Télouet. Then we will take the ancient salt caravan trail. Arrival at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987, a real open-air film studio. Visit with a local guide. You can climb to its summit to enjoy a 360 view and watch the sunset over the Atlas. Installation at the hotel / riad. Dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast. Then, head towards Ouarzazate and the Dadès Valley, passing by the Skoura palm grove. Visit with a local guide to the magnificent defensive Kasbah of Amerhidil, which offers a panoramic view of the palm grove and the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. Continue to El Kelâa M'Gouna, known for its roses. Head back up the valley of roses. Lunch (not included) suggested in a kasbah. Continue towards the Dades Gorges via the Bou Tahar track and go up into the gorges to the site known as Monkey Paws. Check-in at the hotel / riad. Dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast. Departure for Tineghir and discovery of the Todra Gorges, which are a narrow corridor about twenty meters wide formed by two steep cliffs 300 meters high. Road to Tinejdad then Rissani. Lunch (not included) suggested in a café where you can taste the famous Medfouna or Berber pizza. Final stage towards Merzouga. We will then join our camp. Optional (not included) sunset on the back of camels. Dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast. Discovery of the village of Khamlia inhabited by descendants of African slaves who perpetuate the Gnawa music of their ancestors. Then continue towards Tazzarine across a rocky high plateau. Lunch (not included) suggested near Nekkob. Continuing to Zagora. We can proceed to Tamegrout to discover this typical village and its astonishing pottery district. Check-in at the hotel / riad. Dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast. Continue to the Drâa Valley. From Tanzikht, travel up along the Drâa Valley beside the Drâa river, crossing numerous douars until reaching Agdz, a small administrative center. Entering the green and lush largest palm grove in the world feels almost surreal. This sensation becomes tangible when you enter the palm grove through the ruins of the ghost town of El Hara. Its Jewish origins reflect the historical commercial activity of ancient caravans. Continue to Ouarzazate through a mountainous crossing. Upon arrival, discover the magnificent oasis of Fint, which has been used as a backdrop in the filming of movies such as Asterix.. Lunch (not included). Visit the famous Atlas film studios where movies such as Kundun, Asterix, The Hills Have Eyes, and most recently Gladiator 2, were filmed. During the guided tour, you will discover the behind-the-scenes of shootings, some anecdotes, and the construction methods that have evolved over time. It is not uncommon to encounter, during your studio visit, an ongoing shoot or actual actors in costume on stage. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel / riad.
