Immerse yourself in the local culture with a guided tour of the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou that culminates with a panoramic view from its summit. Continue to Ouarzazate and the oasis of Fint, famous backdrops for many films. Be surprised by the Drâa Valley, the world's longest palm grove, before reaching Zagora and the mythical 'Timbuktu 52 days' sign.
Then explore the village of Tamegrout, its medieval library, and its pottery quarter. End your journey with a night under the stars in the Chgaga dunes and a wake-up in the middle of the dried-up Iriki lake, bearing witness to the audacious Paris-Dakar rally. Breakfast and meeting with our confirmed driver. Early departure for the south. Crossing the Tizin't Tichka pass located at 2260 m and the highest road point in Morocco. Continue to the village of Télouet. Then arrival at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987, a real open-air movie studio. Lunch (not included). Tour with a local tour guide. You can climb to its summit to enjoy a 360° view. We will then join Ouarzazate and the Fint oasis, which has been used as a backdrop for many films. Tea at a local's home, then we will continue towards Agdz and the Drâa valley through a mountain crossing. Arrival in Agdz. Immersing oneself under the green and lush world’s largest palm grove is an almost unreal sensation. This feeling becomes tangible when entering the palm grove through the ruins of the ghost town of El Hara. Its Jewish origins bear witness to the commercial activity of the caravans of yesteryear. Arrival at the hotel / riad. Free time to enjoy this magnificent site. Dinner and accommodation.
Breakfast. Departure for Zagora. We will follow the Drâa palm grove, the longest palm grove in the world, passing through many douars. Arrival in Zagora and stop in front of the famous Timbuktu sign before continuing further south crossing the reg. Discovery of the village of Tamegrout with a local tour guide, its medieval library containing unique documents, and its pottery district which will surprise you. Lunch (not included). We continue our route through the reg to reach Tagounite. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel / riad.
Breakfast. Then departure for M’Hamid which marks the beginning of the Western Sahara. Then meeting with our 4x4 driver and departure through the Saharan tracks to join the sacred oasis. Located fifty kilometers southwest of M’Hamid El Ghizlane and 90 kilometers from Zagora, the Sacred Oasis of Oum Lâalag appears like a mirage. Positioned there, on the old route to Timbuktu, a few kilometers also from the Algerian border. The Sacred Oasis of Oum Lâalag spans 15 hectares, it is sacred because it possesses the most precious wealth of the desert: water, which arrives here, thanks to a spring. According to an old popular belief, the Oasis takes its name from the story that the spring was inhabited by a protective soul. For a long time, passing nomads, confident of this protection, would leave their luggage there without apprehension. Lunch (not included). Final stage to reach the Chgaga dunes. Installation in a luxury bivouac with tents with private sanitary facilities and showers. In the late afternoon, departure for the sunset on camelback in the large dunes.
Breakfast, then departure for a high-speed crossing of the dried-up Iriki lake following the tracks of the Paris Dakar. We will end with a slow track amidst magnificent landscapes. We will meet our driver and minibus. Lunch (not included) at Foum Zguid then continue on the road towards Taroundant. We will join the village of Taliouine, the capital of saffron. Suggested visit to the cooperative. Then continuation towards Taroudant, also nicknamed the "Little Marrakech" with its ramparts lined with palm trees, olive trees, and eucalyptus. Check-in at the hotel/riad. Dinner and accommodation.
Breakfast. Return to Marrakech via the very beautiful scenic route of Tizin 'Test. Lunch (not included) in Ouirgane before finishing through the Asni gorges and last stop for Marrakech. Arrival at the hotel / riad. Dinner and accommodation.
Breakfast. Departure from the hotel for the historical tour of "The Pearl of the South" with local tour guide. This tour will take us from the Menara Gardens to the Bahia Palace, ending with a visit to the exteriors of the Koutoubia Mosque and the Menara Gardens. Lunch (not included) in a palace in the medina. In the afternoon, departure for a stroll through the souks of the medina and discovery of the Djemaa El Fna square when the show begins: snake charmers, acrobats, monkey trainers, fortune tellers will bewitch you. Return to the hotel / riad. Dinner and accommodation.
