Combined Tour / South - Marrakech

Breakfast. Departure for Ouarzazate and then after a short mountain crossing, we will follow the Draa valley to Zagora. Stop in front of the famous Tombouctou sign. Lunch (not included). Then we will continue towards Tamegrout passing by the Tinfou dunes which herald the desert. Discovery of the village of Tamegrout with a local guide, its medieval library containing unique documents in the world, its pottery district that will surprise you. We continue our route through the reg and then a last small mountain crossing that will reveal the village of M'Hamid which marks the beginning of the Western sahara. Then departure on camel back through the Saharan tracks to join the bivouac located in the erg Lioudi. Settling in tents. Dinner and end of the evening around a campfire and overnight stay.

Breakfast. Early morning free to enjoy the desert. Then return by 4x4 to M’Hamid to meet our driver. Return to Zagora. Possibility of a detour to the Ksar of Tissergate. Lunch (not included). Crossing the fortified gate, you can stroll through the rigorously traced dark alleys beneath the houses, evoking the Ksourian universe and its collective lifestyle. Visit the museum of arts and traditions of the Drâa Valley which is located in the Ksar. We will then join the Drâa Valley and Agdz. Last kilometers to reach your accommodation located in the heart of the magnificent palm grove and along the Drâa River. Entering under the green and lush largest palm grove in the world is an almost unreal sensation. This sensation becomes tangible when you enter the palm grove through the ruins of the ghost town of El Hara. Its Jewish origins reflect the commercial activity of the caravans of yesteryear. Settling in at Hara Oasis in lodges or similar. Dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast. Departure to Ouarzazate through a mountainous crossing. Visit to the Atlas film studios which have made Ouarzazate the "Ouarzawood". You will fall under the charm of Egyptian temples, Tibetan monasteries, or even biblical cities recreated in the middle of the desert surrounded by an artistic quarter. Imagine the battles of gladiators in ancient Rome or delve into the Egyptian atmosphere of the era of the pharaohs and why not the enchantment of a thrilling adventure in search of the "Diamond of the Nile". Atlas Studios gives you the opportunity to discover the sets where several successful films and series were shot such as Gladiator, Astérix et Cléopâtre, Kundun, Prince Of Persia, or Game of Thrones, La Colline a des Yeux... Continue with a final immersion into the life of the south with the discovery of the magnificent oasis of Fint which has served as a set for films such as Astérix... Lunch at a local's home. Continue towards Marrakech passing through the Tizin't Tichka pass. Upon arrival, check-in at the riad Mazaya or similar. Dinner (not included).Overnight stay.

Breakfast. Option (not included): Departure with a local guide for a tour of the medina. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985 and spanning some 1100 hectares, the medina of Marrakech, like most old Moroccan cities, is surrounded by walls that spatially delineate the old city from the new. This wall has several doors, more or less monumental. The neighborhoods of the medina may be named after the nearby gate, a zaouïa, a mausoleum, a mosque, a palace, a traffic axis, or a traditional name. The Marrakech medina hosts the souks that you will discover, including the spice souks, babouches, ironworkers, copper… Each trade is historically structured and established in a delimited area of the medina, in the form of corporations with strict rules and a professional hierarchy with apprentices, mâalems, master craftsmen, and master trainers, guardians of traditional ancestral artisanal know-how. At the head of each trade, there is an amine, a wise man of trust democratically elected by his peers for an indefinite period, respected by all members of his corporation. He acts as a mediator and conciliator, to settle any dispute that may arise between members or between members and suppliers and customers according to an unwritten code that no one questions.
