Itinerary
Arrival at Marrakech Menara Airport. Welcome by the tour guide. Transfer to the hotel / riad 4*. Dinner and accommodation.
Breakfast. Departure for Ouarzazate via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2260 m) in the High Atlas with wonderful landscapes and small tiered villages. Visit of the Casbah of Aït Benhaddou : a charming ksar leaning against a hill, dominated by ruined fortifications particularly its Irghem (granary - fortress). Visit of the Casbah of Tiffoultout and lunch ( not included). Continue to Ouarzazate. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel / riad.
After breakfast, head south through the Drâa Valley, lined with oases, palm groves, and kasbahs. From Tansikht, continue along the beautiful and lush Drâa Valley. The Ksour follow one another in an almost uninterrupted ribbon of palm groves. Arrival in Zagora and lunch (not included). Located in a palm grove, this ancient caravan stopover city is also the "Gate of the Desert," on the edge of the Western Sahara. Continue to M’Hmaid, which marks the border with the first dunes. Bivouac under a nomadic tent. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel / riad
Breakfast. Free morning. Optional (not included: Discovery of the palm grove of M'hamid on camelback and tea in a Bedouin tent or 4x4 excursion to discover the highest and largest dunes in Morocco "Dunes of Chicaga". Lunch (not included) suggested in a nomad tent and departure for Zagora. Walk at the foot of the dunes of Tinfou, visit of the Oasis of Tamegroute and its medieval library with its Koranic works. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel / riad.
Breakfast and departure for Ouarzazate: the road follows the Drâa river through a string of palm groves dotted with about fifty kasbahs and Ksours. Arrival at Agdz, a small administrative center dominated by the huge cliff of Jebel Kissane. The road continues along Jebel Tifernine, the eastern foothills of the Anti-Atlas, then crosses the mountain to Ouarzazate via the Tizi N'Tinififft pass (1660 m). Lunch (not included) followed by a visit to the Taourirt Kasbah, the former kasbah of Pasha El Glaoui. Free late afternoon. Dinner at the hotel / riad and accommodation.
Breakfast. Departure for Marrakech through the High Atlas, via a winding road descending steep slopes. Lunch (not included). Afternoon, tour of the brown ocher ramparts, stroll through the lively and colorful souks of the medina, and in Djemâa El Fna square: snake charmers, acrobats, monkey trainers, fortune tellers. Check-in at the hotel / riad. Dinner and accommodation.
Breakfast. Morning dedicated to visiting Marrakech, La Perle du Sud: the Koutoubia, the Menara gardens, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs. Lunch (not included) suggested in an old palace of the medina. Free afternoon. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel / riad.
